Fairness for Fairview

NeighborWorks Alaska is currently partnering with the Fairview Community Council on a “Fairness for Fairview” effort.  Visit our website with more details at www.FairviewAK.org. The project is designed and led by Fairview residents, including these three main areas:

  1. Citizen science air monitoring project: In partnership with the Department of Environmental Conservation and the Anchorage Health Department, the project team is recruiting and training 20 residents and business owners to monitor air quality especially related to transportation-related emissions, and will educate and engage the neighborhood on real-time data and opportunities to reimagine and transform the highway-to-highway. View the real-time air quality map here.
  2. Fairview Action Team: The project team is recruiting and training local residents to organize neighbors around neighborhood issues and opportunities.
  3. Creating a storytelling platform, “Voices of Fairview:” The project team will create a series of short videos showcasing leaders that represent the diverse fabric of people that make Fairview.
